Music and Lyrics - Review

I sat down to watch this one with my wife. I wasn't reallt interested to be honest but on a Saturday night she rules the roost as far as the TV is concerned! The film has been out for a few years now but was putting out so to speak on 5.
The headliners are Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. The film centres around a 'has-been' 80's musician who having been ripped off by his former bandmate is now making a living shaking his thing on down-market locations to middle aged women. Drew Barry is the girl that's gonna change his life around.

The film wasn't awful by any standards but in typical eel-good rom-com performances you experience the inevitable lovers tiff before the big romantic gesture at the end and it's that romantic gesture that if you're not careful will convince you that the previuous 90 mins was good.

I you want to watch the floppy headed Grant mumble his way through another 'B' movie then you'll be happy along with all the other hopeless romantics. The humour was under stated by the actors which meant that many o the jokes went unoticed by the wife as I found myself picking them up. The film lacks energy and like the middle eight of a BeeGees song this film lacked energy and creation and left you waiting for the big climax.

So here is my score.......4 Weddings out of 10. Get it? See what I did there?
